Small Group Sermon Questions:
Daniel 1:1-18
  1. In what ways does culture and society press and swirl around Christians in this time? Pressing Christians to adopt patterns of behaviour that are not in keeping with following Jesus Christ?  
  2. What particular way are you feeling pressure on your identity as a follower of Christ?  
  3. Three elements that sustain us are focus, courage and connection. How can you adopt or receive focus right now? What do you need to do to press into greater focus on Jesus and following him?  
  4. Where do you need courage? Is there a place in your life where you've felt to step out would be too risky, where you've felt as though you could be swept away? Is there an opportunity or place where God is calling you to act, to speak, or to remain silent? How has he shown you that he will support you in this?  
  5. And lastly, connection: In what way this week can you reach out to another member of the Christian body to strengthen and support them? They need focus and courage, how can you build them up so that they may receive that from God?
