Called, Exiled, and Sent
- In what ways do you feel chosen? Think of how you have experienced it, and share with your group or journal how you feel particularly chosen by God. If you aren't sure how to articulate that, what would it look like if you did? What would be a sign to you that you are chosen by God?
- In what ways do you feel exiled here? This may be how you feel like a foreigner in society. Or, as an outsider in some way. In what way do you not fit in?
- How might God use your identity as chosen, and exiled? What opportunities do you have to share your identity and live out of both sides as a witness to others?
- How can you communicate to someone else that they are chosen and loved? How might you be a witness from God of his love for others in the body of Christ? Perhaps you could phone someone, or drop something off at their house as a sign of caring, in the name of Jesus.
- Off the Wall: Is there an image, or a movie that particularly captures the idea of outsider and insider for you? How does it convey those boundaries, and how does it show people transcending those boundaries for love, or grace, or forgiveness, or …
